SimTech is seeking an engineer/scientist with simulation software engineering experience. The qualified candidate will work within a team of software engineers, developers, and system analysts to generate scenarios in support of Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) interoperability and performance testing using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) and Digital Simulations. The candidate will process large data sets in various formats using scripts and tools to convert the data for use within the framework software. Candidate will need to be able to translate system requirements into scenario configuration settings. Candidate will perform checkout and analysis of generated scenarios to verify that all requirements are met and that data inputs are correct. Candidate will also work with Configuration Management, test lab personnel, test conductors and Event Mission Managers (EMMs), and other MDA stakeholders to ensure the delivered product meets the customer’s needs.
Strong candidates will have an Engineering or Science degree and will be proficient in Linux/Unix, able to write scripts using Perl and Java, and able to do data reduction with tools such as Matlab. The candidate should have good communication skills and ability to prepare reports and briefings presenting the results of data analysis. Required skills also include ability to work within a diverse group, complete large tasks independently within a compressed schedule, excellent organizational skills.
Ability to obtain a security clearance required.
Minimum Required Skills
- 3-10 years’ experience
- Experienced in all aspects of software engineering, development and testing
- Ability to write scripts using Perl and Java
- Experience with data reduction and analysis tools such as Matlab
- Strong candidates will have an Engineering or Science degree
- Linux/Unix and Microsoft Access
- Engineering, Science or related Bachelor’s Degree
