(SimTech) located in Huntsville, Alabama in the heart of Cummings Research Park has immediate openings for an Flight Test Event Mission Manager to join our growing, dynamic team.
The qualified candidate will support the MDA Engineering Directorate Modeling & Simulation Office in the planning, preparation, and execution of the Objective Simulation Framework in support of MDA Flight Tests.
FT phases supported include System Pre-Mission Test (pre-mission risk reduction; MDA/DT Mission Execution Team (MET) CONOPS training; Range Support test buildup activities; Warfighter Training; and, System Post-Flight Reconstruction (SPFR) testing. Primary functions will include focus on Flight Test.
Participate in all MDA planning and coordination meetings. Represent MDA/ESP for OSF capabilities, limitations, and new requirements; and, MDA/ESI for OSF event scheduling, test case development requirements, OSF test readiness, and OSF test execution.
Attend presentation of OSF activities, schedule, and readiness. Participate in work groups/meetings which may include: test planning, readiness, and execution reviews and addition support and team meetings.
Review all Flight Test planning documentation, with focus on OSF requirements, capabilities and limitations, scheduling, and ability to support.
Coordinate OSF test support requirements among all ESP and ESI Functional Areas to meet new requirements. Coordinate and schedule of test resources to support DoD/MDA System-level test events.
Consolidation of simulation framework support requirements from BMDS stakeholders; and, translation of those requirements into implementation strategies, schedules, and test plans.
Maintain ESI and ESP Management awareness of all planning activities, and issues related to ESI/ESP roles and responsibilities.
Provide information to all levels of management. Perform other duties as assigned.
10-20+ years relevant experience.
Desired candidate will be familiar with real-time distributed simulation infrastructures; BMDS Element configurations and operations; and, DOD Operational Testing (OT) and Development Testing (DT).
Candidate must be a self-starter capable of working with minimal direction, and experienced in staff coordination; have strong interpersonal and analytical skills to work as a team player; and, able to work comfortably and effectively with team members as well as Element contacts, test stakeholders and other DOD contractors.
Some travel to coordinate/monitor test support, support technical interchange meetings, and test coordination and planning meetings may be required.
Excellent organization skills needed to track multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
Develop, troubleshoot, and execute test cases; analyze data. Prepare reports; excellent verbal and written communication skills. U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret security clearance required.
Education Requirements Bachelor’s degree required in Math, Engineering, Computer Science or Physics from an accredited institution. .
